About Hidden Door Floral Studio
Hidden Door started the way most good things do — with someone who couldn’t find what they were looking for.
Our founder Anita trained in European floral design, studying color theory, botanical composition, and classical technique at a conservatory in Hungary. After opening her own shops near Budapest and building a reputation for work that looked nothing like what the local market expected, she moved to Los Angeles and founded Hidden Door Floral Studio in 2018.
In LA, the studio worked with production designers, interior stylists, and clients who cared about the difference between an arrangement that was assembled and one that was designed. The studio grew on referrals alone — no advertising, no wire services, no shortcuts.
In 2022, Anita brought Hidden Door to Raleigh. The city’s growth, its appetite for quality, and its mix of creative energy and established neighborhoods made it the right place for a studio that takes the craft seriously.
The Design Approach
We don’t have a house style in the rigid sense. What we have is a point of view: every arrangement should feel intentional. That means considering the season, the stems, the vessel, and the space where the flowers will live. It means editing — leaving things out so what remains has room to breathe. And it means using premium ingredients, because you can’t design something beautiful with mediocre materials.
This approach earned Anita a featured role at the North Carolina Museum of Art’s Art in Bloom, where she created floral installations that interpreted museum artworks through the language of flowers. It’s the same approach we bring to a Tuesday afternoon delivery in Oakwood.
